The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) is looking for
an energetic person to coordinate HLAA advocacy and state development.
Applicants should have at a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
A master’ degrees in public administration, public policy
or related field would be a plus.
Applicants are required to have at least four years proven
success in policy and or advocacy, ideally within the non-profit
sector or government agency. Strong interpersonal and communication
skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range
of constituencies a must. Excellent analytical and written
and oral communication skills with a record of achieving policy
outcomes. (Note: Good writing skills are a requirement of this
position. If applicants have not been published, he or she
may be asked to produce writing sample.)
Strong project management success, including planning, organizing
and responding to dynamic priorities. Must be a self -starter
with the ability to juggle multiple tasks. Knowledge of the
legislative processes at the federal and state levels. Ability
to engage and lead networks. Strong relationship building skills
demonstrating flexibility to influence a range of constituents.
Commitment to the HLAA mission, values and policy goals. Computer
skills including PowerPoint and Excel. Bethesda location near
Metro.
