HLAA Responds to FCC’s Public Notice on Hearing Aid Compatible Phones

Fri, 11/21/2014

HLAA applauds the FCC’s release of its Public Notice on hearing aid compatible wireless phones. The issues the FCC raises are of vital importance to people with hearing loss who depend on wireless phones, particularly in an emergency.

HLAA has long sought 100% access to wireless phones.  People with hearing loss should not be left behind: we should not have to struggle to find a phone or use a phone that works well with our own hearing devices. It’s critical that everyone is able to make a phone call on their own wireless device as easily and successfully as they take a picture. Ensuring that all phones are compatible with hearing aids goes a long way to achieve that goal.
