Summary

Smartphones, tablets and apps are not only prevalent in our personal lives but are also used in education as ther-app-y and communication tools. This relatively new medium can provide accessibility such as captioning and video conferencing, measurements for loudness levels in different environments, activities for speech, language and auditory training and also tutorials for learning sign language. This presentation provides an overview of how to leverage touch technology, what features are needed when working with deaf and hard of hearing students as well as a sampling of apps and accessories and where to find free and discounted apps.
