Captioned Telephone Industry Responds to FCC’s Order on Captioned Telephone Issues

Wed, 10/02/2013

CaptionCall filed a Petition for Stay with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Their Petition asks the FCC to eliminate any charge for captioned telephone equipment and eliminate the requirement to turn on the caption function each time they turn on the phone. They indicate that the FCC should be asking whether their Order provides individuals equal opportunities to use the phone, not whether the burdens the Order places on people with disabilities are acceptable.
