Nashville, Where History Was Made
More than 1100 people came from across the country to the Music City and HLAA made its mark. Never before has the Grand Ole Opry had captioning at one of its shows. Not once in its 84-year history! But 450 attendees watched in delight as Nashville’s own Karyn Menck (she’s an HLAA member and award recipient too!) provided flawless captioning to an audience of over 4,000 people.
Never has HLAA had so many young adults attend its convention. There were about 75 young adults in attendance, including scholarship recipients of the Rocky Stone Endowment Fund, Sorenson Communications, CTIA - The Wireless Association®, and several HLAA chapters and state organizations. Expect great things in the future from this very energetic and enthusiastic group!
Thanks to all of you who came as attendees, who volunteered, who exhibited and who sponsored events. We will let the pictures tell the story. (Thank you to Cindy Dyer of Dyer Design for photographing the convention.)
