The Latest on Genetics and Hearing Loss
Planning an Engaging HLAA Chapter Meeting

Instead of a scheduling speaker, try showing one of the captioned videos from the HLAA Research Symposium. Last year’s Research Symposium at the HLAA2019 Convention was “The Latest on Genetics and Hearing Loss.” The videos range from 14 minutes to 28 minutes. Be sure to show the introduction and the last one called “Genetic Hearing Loss: One Family’s Story.” (Oh those kids are adorable and so articulate about hearing loss in their family!) Have a rap session after.

Upcoming Research Symposium on Tinnitus

This year’s Research Symposium at HLAA2020 in New Orleans, June 18-21 is “The Latest on Tinnitus Research.” You won’t want to miss it! The 2019 and 2020 Research Symposium is sponsored by Cochlear Americas and the National Institute of Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, NIH.

HLAA Chapters can send delegates at a reduced rate if you register by March 2, 2020. Email Carla Beyer-Smolin (cbeyer-smolin@hearingloss.org) for chapter delegate information, there’s a whole track of workshops just for chapters.
