Kevin co-chairs Rush’s ADA Task Force committee and facilitates its Disabilities Employee Resource Group\, which he created in 2019. In 2023\, Kevin was appointed by Illinois’ Governor to serve on the Illinois Workforce Innovation Board and currently is vice-chair of its Continuous Improvement & Accountability Committee. Kevin has worked as a disability rights advocate and trainer for most of his career\, over 3 decades. \n\n\nPatty McMahill\, MHA\, MT (ASCP)\nDirector of Clinical Integration  \nOSF HealthCare  \nPatty McMahill is Director of Clinical Integration at OSF HealthCare\, where she leads strategic programs that enhance patient care in clinical engineering\, client devices\, and supply chain operations. She also oversees the Assistive Services Program\, advancing equitable communication access for patients with disabilities and those with limited English proficiency across 17 hospitals and 150+ clinics. Her leadership has significantly expanded 24/7 language services throughout Illinois and Michigan.  \n\n\nWendy Martell\, MSN\, RN\nProgram Manager\, Magnet and Nursing Excellence \nNursing Professional Development and Advancement \nSwedish Hospital \nWendy Martell is the Program Manager\, Magnet & Nursing Excellence at Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital. She leads the Magnet Recognition Program to maintain Magnet designation and advance nursing excellence at the hospital. Wendy serves as liaison to the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and advises nursing leadership on sustaining Magnet standards and strategies. She oversees nursing quality and satisfaction data analysis\, collaborates with clinical teams to drive improvements\, and mentors professional governance councils. Wendy also champions evidence-based practice and professional development to support nurses in delivering outstanding patient care. This presentation will describe the strategies\, the players\, the pitfalls\, and “how-to” steps toward achieving legislative attention and action on issues of concern to people with hearing loss.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCynthia Stewart\nTitle\nCynthia Stewart has a bi-lateral severe sensorineural hearing loss resulting from measles at the age of 3. She learned to lip read as a young child and didn’t get hearing aids until the age of 25\, having struggled through school and university to that point. She has had a varied career\, ranging from policy analyst to manager of large public sector organizations\, including King County Airport Director and Deputy County Manager of Thurston County\, WA. She has also had a second career as a group facilitator and mediator and consultant to groups forming new organizations. She now serves as a volunteer chair of the League of Women Voters of WA Lobby Team\, working with the WA State Legislature. Cynthia has been an active member of HLAA-WA for a number of years\, including serving as President for several years and now as liaison to the WA state legislature. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHelpful tips\nProvide your tips here.
