Susanna knows adversity—she was born deaf, but lives in a hearing world. As a bilateral cochlear implant wearer, and former hearing aid user, she uses her experiences to teach us that, in spite of setbacks, it is possible to achieve success with a positive attitude.

Susanna presents to groups, organizations, and corporations as a keynote speaker and trainer on the following topics: change, leadership, success, and hearing loss. She is also the owner of Dussling Fine Finishes, a custom furniture refinishing company.

Susanna’s past professional experiences includes a 20+ year career as a retail leader. She earned a master’s degree in human resources development from the University of Houston.

She wrote Sunny and her Cochlear Implants, a children’s book about hope and acceptance with a “can do” attitude. When not at work, she is dedicated to her equestrian endeavors and enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her pets:  Charlie, the Lhasa Apso and Maverick, the cat.
