Chapter Update Forms
Chapter Update forms are due by October 1, 2019. If you still have not submitted an update form, they are available to download on the Chapter Leader Resources page under Annual Requirements. Please check the Chapter Map and let me know if anything needs to be updated with your listing. Please give specific contact information for the HLAA website and submit the update by emailing it to chapters@hearingloss.org or mailing it to the HLAA office at your earliest convenience. Feel free to reach out to me via email if future changes are needed.
Please Update Membership Forms, Newsletters and Websites with New Membership Rates
As of July 1, 2019, HLAA increased the membership rates as directed by the HLAA Board of Trustees. We have new membership brochures available at the HLAA Online Store on the HLAA website at hearingloss.org. Please make note of the new membership rates and new membership options listed below. HLAA no longer offers 3 and 5-year memberships. Please do not use old membership forms with old rates or with 3 and 5-year membership options on them. This is how individual HLAA membership options on new forms should appear:
Annual Membership Options
Regular Membership (Includes Hearing Life in print and digital format)
Individual $45 Couple/Family $55 Professional $80
Online Membership (Includes Hearing Life in digital format only)
Individual $35 Student $25
Veteran Membership (for new members only)
COMPLIMENTARY one year Regular Membership and lifetime Online Membership
Look for the date on the bottom of the membership form, if your form is dated before 7/2019, make sure to print out new membership forms from the Become a Member page. Please update your newsletters, websites, and other communications to members as well so that the current rates are observed.
Please Update HLAA Logos
The new HLAA logo had been updated some time ago but we have a lot of chapter communications that still have the old HLAA logo. Please update any HLAA logo and your HLAA chapter logo on your chapter newsletters, websites, Facebook pages, and all communications. We have the currrent HLAA logo and your current chapter logo on the HLAA website on the Chapter Leader Resources page under Publicity and Promotion: HLAA Logo and Chapter Logos. Please do not alter the logos and refer to the HLAA Branding Guidelines in using your logo. There are promotional materials at the HLAA Online Store with the new logo as well. We ask that you please help us keep our HLAA branding consistent and true. If you need help with updating your logo, please contact Ann Thomas, our HLAA Brand Ambassador, at athomas@hearingloss.org.
Liability Insurance
If you need liability coverage for upcoming chapter events such as expos, meetings, etc., HLAA will add you as a rider to our insurance policy for $25 after receiving a Liability Insurance Application from you. You may obtain this certificate through HLAA headquarters by completing the Liability Insurance Application form[Word] [PDF] and sending it with payment of $25 to HLAA. Coverage lasts from the beginning of the year to the end. All liability insurance issued in 2019 will expire on 12/31/2019. In order to obtain insurance for 2020, you will have to send in an application next year. We cannot issue certificates for any events on or after 01/01/2020 until January.
Please Update your Email Lists
Please update your email lists to include chapters@hearingloss.org so that I can receive your email communications. Please remove old emails from former chapter coordinators.

We will be making many more important announcements throughout the year, so make sure you are subscribed to this blog through HLAA News (which you should be if you are receiving this) and make sure that your fellow leaders are subscribed as well! This is how we disseminate the most important information to all HLAA Chapters and State Organizations. We don’t want anyone missing out because they are not subscribed! Subscribe by entering your email in the subscription box on the right side of the main Chapter and State Development Blog page, it looks like this:
Once subscribed, you will receive an email indicating that you will have to activate your subscription. Activate your subscription and then you’re all set.
