Get in the Hearing Loop (GITHL)
A grassroots communication access program promoting hearing loops in
public places
Hearing loops are one kind of assistive listening system that bring sound directly into a listeners’ telecoil-enabled hearing aids or cochlear implant, improving clarity and understanding in public places.
Loops can be life-changing, allowing full communication and participation at work, school, churches, concert halls and other venues. Yet, many public spaces still don’t have hearing loops or other assistive listening systems, despite ADA requirements for accessibility for people with hearing loss.
Through education, advocacy and consultation, GITHL promotes hearing loops and ADA compliance across the U.S., creating accessible and inclusive spaces for people with hearing loss.
