Airpods Turn to OTC and Media Turns to HLAA
In September 2024, some Apple AirPods were approved as over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), making hearing health the center of national media attention. As the leading voice for the 50 million+ Americans with, and at risk of, hearing loss, HLAA has been featured in stories from major outlets, such as CNN, CNBC, NPR, CBS News, AP, Yahoo! News and other press.
