Ways To Give
Matching Gifts – Double Your Donation
Many employers match contributions made by their employees, retirees and employee spouses to qualifying charitable organizations. Please contact your personnel, human resource or community relations department for a copy of the matching gift form.
HLAA will fill in the required verification information and return the signed form to the appropriate company contact.
If you have questions about matching gifts, please contact HLAA’s Development Office at 301.657.2248 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) – Designation #11376
CFC is the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign Pledges made by Federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season (usually September – January) support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. HLAA has been approved as a CFC member of the Health and Medical Research Charities of America federation.
Contact your local CFC office for a pledge form.
Please designate the Hearing Loss Association of America, CFC #11376, as your charity of choice.
HLAA has been awarded the Charities Seal of Excellence, awarded to members of the Independent Charities of America and Local Independent Charities of America that have, upon rigorous independent review, been able to certify, document, and demonstration on an annual basis that they meet the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness, and cost effectiveness. One of the 1,000,000 charities operating in the United States today, it is estimated that fewer than 50,000, or 5 percent, meet or exceed these standards, and of those, fewer than 2,000 charities have been awarded this seal.
Stock and Securities Donations
Donating stock or other appreciated securities to HLAA has three important benefits for you, the donor:
- You can donate appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds.
- The donor avoids capital gains taxes on the appreciation.∗
- The total value of the stock upon transfer is tax-deductible.∗
∗We suggest you consult your tax adviser because laws change and might not apply to an individual’s tax situation.
To make a gift of stock to HLAA:
Once your broker has notified HLAA that the securities have been transferred, HLAA will send a receipt and acknowledgment letter to the donor. Please retain the receipt for tax purposes. HLAA’s Federal ID #52-1177011.
Please contact HLAA’s Development Office at 301.657.2248 or via email at email@example.com.

Planned Giving – Leave a Legacy
To ensure the long-term financial security of the organization we are providing our supporters with an opportunity to invest in the future by making a planned gift to HLAA. The Legacy Circle is an honorary circle created by HLAA to recognize and thank those who make a bequest or lifetime gift. HLAA greatly appreciates a gift of any size – we value everyone’s support.
One of the most powerful ways to support the work of HLAA for years to come is through a gift in your Will. Creating a Will is a good first step in creating an overall estate plan.
One way to get started on securing your legacy is to use this free tool to create your will online, or use it to document your wishes and then consult an attorney. HLAA always suggests seeking the advice of an attorney for a complete estate plan and to help identify particular tax, probate and other legal restrictions depending upon where you live. HLAA is pointing you to this online tool because some people don’t have access to an attorney or would like to learn more about how a planned gift works. You can also use this tool as a “worksheet” to take to an attorney skilled in estate plans, wills and trusts. If you need to find an attorney, check with your local bar association. HLAA does not provide legal advice or warrant that the Freewill materials are accurate. See the Freewill Terms and Conditions for more details on their website at FreeWill.com.
HLAA recommends that planned gifts be made in consultation with your accountant, lawyer or financial planning adviser.
By informing us of your planned gift, you will automatically be enrolled in the Legacy Circle. If you have already included HLAA in your estate plan, we can immediately honor you as our newest HLAA Legacy Circle donor. Please call HLAA at 301.657.2248 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Rocky and Ahme Stone Endowment Fund
The Rocky and Ahme Stone Endowment Fund was started to honor our founder Rocky Stone and his widow, Ahme who continues to actively support education, outreach and advocacy efforts of HLAA. The Stone Endowment Fund is a restricted permanent fund that provides the organization with income generated from investments from the principal. The principal is permanently retained and invested. The interest supports scholarships to individuals who would otherwise be unable to attend the HLAA Convention held each year in cities across the country.
To make a gift to the Rocky Stone Endowment Fund or to discuss setting up an endowment, please call the Development Office at 301.657.2248 or send an email to email@example.com.

Network for Good is a nonprofit organization committed to helping donors support their favorite charities online and to enabling charities to attract resources online. Founded in 2001 by AOL, Yahoo! and Cisco, Network for Good enables giving to all charities in good standing with the IRS and in compliance with the Patriot Act.
Donations through Network for Good appear on credit card statements as “Network for Good.” Donations go through the Network for Good Donor Advised Fund, which then re-grants donations to the charity that each donor designates. Network for Good issues a donation receipt via email immediately upon completion of each transaction.
