New Resources will Engage and Educate Families

Hasbro Pegga Pig celebrating new partnership with HLAAEveryone’s hearing loss story is different. That’s why we’re excited to partner with Hasbro to create an addition to our Hearing Loss 101 Toolkit, focusing on kids with hearing loss and their families.

This exciting new project is inspired by an announcement from the world of PEPPA PIG: Peppa’s younger brother, George, has moderate hearing loss. Just as George is getting support in this new chapter of his story, our toolkit update will present information to children in ways they can understand.

George’s experience is a chance to remind people that hearing health matters at every age, while exploring it from the unique perspective of a child. By guiding families through the many ways hearing loss can be described, supported and embraced, we’ll reduce the stigma of hearing loss while celebrating curiosity and acceptance along the way. Here’s a look at what we have planned:

  • The Hearing Loss 101 Toolkit update will feature kid-friendly activities to help them learn about hearing loss, along with tips for families and friends who want to support them. It will be published in April right here on hearingloss.org.
  • A special edition of Hearing Life magazine will be published in May, full of family-friendly stories, advice from subject matter experts and a special appearance by some PEPPA PIG characters.
  • HLAA’s Walk4Hearing events will be rallying communities nationwide in support of hearing health. We’re pleased to share that Hasbro will be supporting those, too.

That’s a lot to look forward to! Stay tuned.
