HLAA se enorgullece en presentar nuestro primer seminario virtual en español, con el cual buscamos apoyar a las personas con pérdida auditiva en la comunidad latina.

Las pérdidas auditivas son más comunes de lo que pensamos. De hecho, representan el tercer problema de salud más común en los Estados Unidos. Aquellas personas que tienen diabetes, problemas cardiovasculares, o historia de exposición a ruido están en riesgo de tener una pérdida auditiva. La diabetes y los problemas cardiovasculares son comunes en la población latina, por lo tanto, debemos estar bien informados sobre como detectar una pérdida de audición y que hacer al respecto. Le invitamos a una sesión informativa donde explicaremos que exámenes se deben hacer para la detección, así como también que soluciones existen hoy en día para ayudar a las personas que sufren de pérdidas auditivas.

HLAA is proud to present its first webinar in Spanish aimed at supporting people with hearing loss in the Latino community.

Hearing loss is more common than what most of us think. It is the third most common health problem in the U.S. People who have diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and history of noise exposure are at risk of acquiring a hearing loss. Diabetes and cardiovascular disease are common health problems in the Latino population, therefore we must stay informed about ways to detect a hearing loss, and what we can do about it. Please join us in this informative session and learn about what types of hearing tests are available, as well as what types of hearing solutions we have.

This session will be in Spanish only, and we will have a Q&A section at the end.

Helpful Hints and Tutorials
  • Zoom concerns have been addressed and procedures will be modified as Zoom continues to update their software. The main security issue was with open meetings. When you register, it creates a unique link for a password protected session.
     
  • Use a computer. If possible, attend the meeting on a computer rather than via a smart phone or iPad. This will give you the best layout to view the captions as well as other meeting features.
     

  • Captions. Meetings are captioned. Subtitles will be visible at the bottom of the meeting zoom screen.
     
  • Check your time zone. This meeting will take place live at 4 p.m. ET, 3 p.m. CT, 2 p.m. MT and 1 p.m. PT. If you are in a different time zone, please adjust the time so you do not miss the meeting.
