The HLAA-Chattanooga Chapter (Tennessee) is having success by promoting national HLAA membership by sharing information about the national HLAA United Membership Program (UMP). In recent months, through promotion of the UMP, the chapter has gained 30 new national members including several who had let their national membership lapse. Promoting the UMP option in the chapter’s bi-monthly newsletter and by mentioning it at chapter meetings is working. This chapter, which has been meeting for 32 years, is also gathering data to determine if change is needed in meeting time and format via surveys with members.
