Life Without Limits – No Barriers

Join Bill Barkeley, a deaf-blind adventurer, advocate and storyteller for a conversation on his most recent adventures to Spain and Nepal. Bill will share insights on his journeys that have led to his co-authoring the No Barriers Life Elements that anyone can use to build a richer and more fulfilling life − regardless if you have any physical challenges or not.

More about Bill Barkeley
“Life without limits” is not just a saying or part of a title; it is how Bill lives his life. Challenges inherent to vision and hearing loss have not impeded Bill’s love for adventure − Bill has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and sailed a 50-foot catamaran using GPS!

Bill serves on the board of directors of No Barriers USA and is a community ambassador for Hear the World.

Webinar: Life is Good

In 2009, Jess Toews was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2), a hereditary condition most commonly associated with bilateral vestibular schwannomas, also known as acoustic neuromas. These are benign (noncancerous) tumors that occur on the nerves for balance and hearing leading to the inner ear. Over the last 9 years, Jess has been through many medical obstacles including deafness, and she is one of just a few people in the United States that has an auditory brainstem implant (ABI) as well as a cochlear implant.

Tune in to hear Jessica’s inspirational story (wear some crazy socks too!).

Jessica’s surgeon, Ravi Samy, M.D., presented a webinar, Auditory Brainstem Implantation, in September 2018. You may wish to view the recording before Jessica’s presentation.
