HLAA Wisconsin State Conference @ Bordini Center

HLAA Wisconsin State Conference

The event begins on Friday, November 15, at the Bordini Center with the HLAA Wisconsin State Association Board meeting. The meeting is open and after the meeting everyone is invited to don their favorite Green Bay Packers gear and enjoy some bratwurst and a cash bar. Guest speakers on Saturday are HLAA Executive Director Barbara Kelley and Sgt. 1st Class David Schible, an HLAA member and veteran with a hearing loss. Sgt. Schible is one of the leaders of the HLAA Veterans Across America Virtual Chapter.

Lise Hamlin, director of public policy, and Carla Beyer-Smolin, will be guest speakers at this month’s meeting in Baltimore. In honor of HLAA’s 40th anniversary, they will talk about the organization’s advocacy history and its impact on public policy.

All are welcome. Come and learn in a communication accessible place and meet others with hearing loss.

December’s meeting focus is tinnitus, the ringing in your ears. We welcome Dr. Michael J. A. Robb, M.D., a nationally recognized Oto-Neurologist based in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Robb joins us to discuss tinnitus, its treatments and possible management strategies. His practice includes diseases and disorders of the ear, and the brain, including hearing loss, deafness and tinnitus.

Bring your questions and concerns, and, invite a family member or friend, with or without hearing loss, and prepare for a lively discussion on the topic of tinnitus.

As magazine editor, deputy executive director, and program support in the past, Barbara has been instrumental in the overall growth of the organization. Ms. Kelley is “energized by our members who tell us that HLAA has changed their lives for the better.” Using Zoom technology, Barbara will give us updates and news from the national offices of HLAA. Her presentation promises to be both inspirational and educational. Please join us to meet this remarkable leader of the hearing loss community.
