Many HLAA Chapters and State Organizations take a short break over the summer months. For those who did, I am excited to connect with you as you resume chapter meetings and dive back in! Here are a few important things for all HLAA Chapters and State Organizations to keep in mind as we get back into the swing of things!
Make Sure to Update Membership Forms, Newsletters, etc.,
HLAA no longer offers 3 and 5-year memberships. Please do not use old membership forms with 3 and 5-year membership options on them. This is how membership options on new forms should appear:
Look for the date on the bottom of the form, if your membership form is dated before 4.2018, make sure to print out new ones from the Become a Member page. Please update your newsletters and other communication to members as well so that no membership form provided by the chapter includes 3 and 5-year memberships. Thank you!
Chapter Update Forms/Budgets by October 1, 2018
Chapter Update Forms and Budgets are due by October 1, annually. You can find both the Chapter Update Form and Budget on the Leader Resources page under Annual Requirements. In the meantime, take a look at the Chapter Map and let me know if anything needs to be updated with your listing. Feel free to reach out to me via email if anything needs to be changed or is incorrect.
Liability Insurance
If you need liability coverage for upcoming chapter events such as expos, meetings, etc., HLAA will add you as a rider to our insurance policy for $25 after receiving a Liability Insurance Application from you. You may obtain this certificate through HLAA headquarters by completing the Liability Insurance Application form[Word] [PDF] and sending it with payment of $25 to HLAA. Coverage lasts from the beginning of the year to the end. All liability insurance issued in 2018 will expire on 12/31/2018. In order to obtain insurance for 2019, you will have to send in an application next year. We cannot issue certificates for any events on or after 01/01/2019 until January.
